8 to Elevate Your eCommerce Store

If you run a WooCommerce store, then customer relationship management (CRM) is a crucial factor in ensuring the success of your business.

Therefore, today, I will discuss the benefits of CRM to online companies, plus I will be suggesting some of the very best WooCommerce CRM platforms currently available.

Ready to get started? Good. So, let’s begin.

The Benefits of Adding CRM to WooCommerce

While WooCommerce is a superb platform for selling products, it doesn’t include much in terms of CRM functionality to help you handle other aspects of your eCommerce business, such as managing customers.

CRM is essential to every business, and eCommerce is no exception. Having a robust CRM system can help:

  • Generate and manage leads.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with your customers, e.g., by staying in touch with them via mailshots, newsletters, etc.
  • Improve customer service, e.g., by allowing them to contact you easily
  • Monitor customer behavior, e.g., how often they visit your store, what they purchase, etc.
  • Keep your WooCommerce customer records and WordPress users separate.
  • Improve conversion rates, generate sales, and help customer retention.

However, CRM can be a rather time-consuming and labor-intensive process. What’s more, the effort required to do it scales proportionally with business growth.

Thankfully, there are several CRM solutions for WooCommerce available that can help automate the process and help you keep a close grip on things.

What To You Look for in a WooCommerce CRM

A good CRM solution for WooCommerce would typically include most of the following features:

  • A means of capturing contact information, e.g., contact or registration forms
  • Chat or messaging facilities to allow customers to contact you easily
  • A customer contact database that can be easily customized and configured to fit your needs.
  • Automatic syncing of orders, customer details, etc. between your CRM and WooCommerce store
  • Customer segmentation rules to target customer groups based on their behavior
  • Advertising management to help create and manage campaigns and track their effectiveness
  • Configurable and customizable reporting, including activity logs for monitoring customer activity, e.g., abandoned carts, complaints, etc.
  • Automations to help save time and resources, e.g., rules for targeted email campaigns, reminders for abandoned carts, etc.
  • Easy integration with other plugins and software.
  • A professional user interface, customizable to suit the specific needs of your business. The backend needs to be intuitive so that personnel can use it easily and efficiently. The front end should provide the best possible experience for customers.

Given that no two businesses are identical, you may not need all these features, or you may need others that are not listed. Therefore, it is essential to think about the specific needs of your business when choosing a CRM solution.

Who Should Use a WooCommerce CRM?

In a nutshell, any owner of a WooCommerce business should consider using a robust CRM solution. This is because without one, there is a danger that as the business scales, the CRM activities could become unmanageable and too disconnected from the sales side of the things.

While most CRM solutions are hosted on the servers of the CRM provider, WP-CRM System stores everything in your WordPress. That brings three distinct advantages:

  • You have complete control over data security
  • There are no limitations on how many records can be stored
  • You do not have any restrictions on the number of employees that can access the system

To use WP-CRM System with WooCommerce, you must either add the WooCommerce Connect extension to the free plugin or invest in either an ‘Enhanced’ or ‘Professional’ plan.

Both the free plugin and paid plans include most of the tools you would expect from a CRM solution, including contact management, contact import, and export, while the paid ones add integrations with things like Zapier, MailChimp, Ninja Forms, and ZenDesk.
