Boasting over 137 features, the best-selling plugin gives you everything you need to turn a standard WooCommerce installation into a powerful platform where customers can shop across multiple vendors while those vendors themselves can enjoy comprehensive control over their products, orders, payouts, and more.

So far, so good, but with a number of other quality multi-vendor marketplace plugins out there, what makes MarketKing so special?

What is it that makes this the go-to marketplace tool for budding eCommerce entrepreneurs?

More importantly, is this the right plugin to use to get your new online retail platform off the ground?

It’s these questions and more, that we’ll answer in this comprehensive MarketKing WooCommerce plugin review.

MarketKing Review 2022: A Brief Overview

MarketKing Review 2022: A Brief Overview

On its own, the WooCommerce plugin is an excellent tool for creating your own online store where you sell your own products, manage your own orders, and basically take full charge of running your own eCommerce business.

There are even helpful tools out there that help you to use WooCommerce to dropship products from multiple third-party vendors, though that still means you’re in complete control of every product, every special offer, and every order.

But what if you wanted to bring other sellers and creators on board and give them complete control over their own inventory?

What if you wanted to create a bustling online retail community around a certain niche like fashion, electronics, art, music, or health and beauty, where eager consumers can come and shop from a number of retailers all in one place?

That’s when you install a multi-vendor plugin like MarketKing, which essentially enables you to launch your very own marketplace website where numerous different vendors can sell their wares and you earn a commission on each sale.

As we mentioned in the introduction, there are several options out there for doing this, but having put MarketKing through its paces, we’re convinced that it’s the best tool for the job for three key reasons.

It’s incredibly easy to use

Despite being an incredibly powerful multi-vendor platform, MarketKing has been expertly designed so that even eCommerce newcomers will have little trouble getting to grips with it.

What’s more, if you do run into any problems, the extensive documentation is full of easy-to-follow tutorials and guides which help you tackle just about any problem you may encounter.

It looks impressive

As we’ll discuss in a moment, one of MarketKing’s most significant selling points is actually its extensive array of features, but what we really like is that, unlike other plugins, the developers have ensured that such far-reaching functionality doesn’t come at the expense of aesthetic appeal.

The back-end is clearly laid out and a breeze to navigate, while the customer-facing storefronts and product pages are as attractive and well-designed as anything you’d find on one of the major marketplaces we mentioned in the introduction.

It really does pack a LOT of features

Seriously, there probably isn’t a single thing you could want to do as the owner of an online marketplace site that MarketKing isn’t capable of.

Take a look at just some of the 137+ key features included:

Hands-on With MarketKing

Of course, having lots of features is a good start, but it’s how those features are used and the ease with which you can take complete control over your new marketplace site that really matters the most. With that in mind, here’s a look at just a few of the key things you can do with MarketKing.

1. Comprehensive Dashboard

After installing and activating the plugin, the first thing you come across is an in-depth dashboard complete with a simple-to-understand sales summary that breaks down key statistics such as the total number of sales across all vendors, the amount of commissions you’ve earned on those sales, orders placed, and new vendors registered.

Along the left-hand side of this panel is a detailed menu which gives you access to everything you’d need to run your site.

2. Announcements

The first important thing to check out on this menu is the Announcements panel which, as the name implies, allows you to broadcast important announcements to either all vendors or specific targeted groups of vendors.

Doing this is no more difficult than clicking “New Announcement” and typing up that announcement the same way that you might type up a standard blog post.

3. Vendor Groups

Vendor Groups is another feature that’s fairly self explanatory. It allows you to categorize your vendors into specific groups. If you wanted to create one group for newcomers who may need a little extra help with onboarding and another for rewarding your best-selling vendors with certain perks, here’s where you’d create those groups.

4. Messages

Messages is your internal messaging system where vendors can communicate directly with you with questions, support requests etc.

5. Commission Rules

MarketKing boasts that it offers a complex commissions system that gives you full flexibility and control over how you manage commissions, but while the system itself may be complex, actually establishing a new commission rule is incredibly straightforward.

Simply select “Create a new rule” from the Commission Rules dashboard, give that rule a name, and then use the four drop-down menus to configure it to your liking.

6. Abuse Reports

Running any kind of eCommerce store is rarely entirely plain sailing. There’ll always be some disagreements between customers and vendors. The ‘Abuse Reports’ tab is where you’ll handle those disagreements by reviewing complaints and abuse reports and deciding what to do about them.

7. Membership Packages

If you want to upsell various packages with additional features to your vendors, the Membership Packages panel dashboard allows you to do that.

Clicking on the ‘New Package’ tab brings up a list of easy-to-configure package settings that gives you the complete freedom and control to customize each package.

8. Verification Requests

As a reputable eCommerce business, you’re not going to let just anybody sign-up to sell via your website. You want to be sure that any vendors you work with are legitimate and above board.

You can request documentation such as proof of identity during the vendor sign-up process and use the Verification Requests panel to manage those documents.

9. Pro Modules

The extensive Pro Modules menu allows you to toggle all of the main features on or off so that you can determine which services you offer to vendors at which time.

If you wanted to restrict new vendor registrations, for example, you could simply turn it off here.

10. Registration

Finally, the Registration menu gives you full control over how you configure your registration forms for vendors, marketplace partners, and customers alike.

You can add new registration fields and even decide whether new vendors are automatically allowed to start selling or whether they need manual approval first.

Pricing

There is, of course, one other key reason why we’re such big fans of the MarketKing Multi-Vendor Marketplace plugin, and that’s its very affordable pricing.

As WPLift went to press with this review, the plugin cost just $299 for a single lifetime license with an optional 12-months extended support available for $50.25.

This is a significant reduction from its original price of $499.

MarketKing Multi-Vendor MarketPlace Plugin – A Winning Combination of Extensive Features and Excellent Ease of Use

The ten key features we’ve shown you above are by no means all that MarketKing has to offer.

We’ve simply included them because they best represent the depth and variety of functionality available to you.

Elsewhere on that main dashboard menu, you’ll also find options to help you manage your vendors, control payouts and refunds, view in-depth sales reports, award your top sellers with badges and other status simples, and manage documentation for your sellers.

The best part, though, aren’t necessarily the features themselves but how incredibly easy they are to use.

Requiring no more technical expertise than it takes to manage a standard WordPress and WooCommerce installation, MarketKing makes it easy for even new eCommerce entrepreneurs to set up a dynamic marketplace website of their own.
