Can You Build a Unique Website in Seconds?

AI is all the rage, particularly in the web design world. And Wix ADI (Artificial Design Intelligence) is at the forefront of near-instant website construction for page builders. In this Wix ADI review, we explore how the AI builder works, its features, and how it stacks up in terms of ecommerce functionality, user interface, and customer support.

📚 Keep reading our Wix ADI review for a full look into the builder that designs a site in seconds—with only a few prompts from the user.

What is Wix ADI?

Wix homepage.

Wix ADI is a product from Wix.com, the easy to use and affordable website builder.

In the past, Wix has featured true drag-and-drop functionality, beautiful starter templates, and apps for beginners and advanced users alike to rapidly build and manage websites. Wix ADI is a newer feature that combines all the old reliable Wix features but enables users to build a website from scratch with artificial intelligence.

Users interact with much of the Wix ADI interface at the beginning of their website-building process. You have the option to use AI or not. If choosing AI, the Wix ADI tool asks you some questions about your business and desires for the design.

Then Wix ADI builds an entirely unique website for you. It tailors the website to your brand and business category and checks information across the internet to create relevant content.

Within seconds, you receive a beautiful website with specific functionality (like an online store or a blog). And you have full control over customizing anything with the classic Wix drag-and-drop builder. 🏗️

Wix ADI review: the features ⚙️

The feature set of Wix ADI is similar to that of the regular Wix Editor. However, you also receive the initial step of AI-assisted website building at the beginning of the process.

🧾 Here’s a list of the standout features you can expect from Wix ADI:

Completely unique AI design

The foundation of the Wix ADI engine is its ability to generate a unique website every time. No result is the same, so your brand isn’t stuck with a template used by thousands of others.

A design from Wix ADI.

Wix ADI achieves this personalization and uniqueness by:

  • Scraping the web for content related to your brand.
  • Changing a design based on context and the users’ requirements.
  • Providing variations of sections, pages, fonts, and colors for the most unique combination.
  • Using styles that reflect your brand image.
  • Customizing websites based on the business category; it looks at how similar businesses lay out their websites (and what types of styles and media are used).

Along with that, you still have control over every step of the way. Wix ADI presents unique templates to you, which you can accept, reject, or modify with the Wix drag-and-drop builder.

Grid-based editor

Wix ADI integrates seamlessly with Wix’s grid-based editor. Everything produced by Wix ADI goes right into this editor for you to adjust based on your brand’s needs.

Some elements, for instance, need to be personalized for your business. You may need to change store hours, staff names, blog post entries, or even something you didn’t like about the design from Wix ADI.

Designing a contact page.

Luckily, Wix offers a grid-based, drag-and-drop builder, which means that content modules are placeable just about anywhere on the screen. The interface functions as a giant grid, allowing you to drag and place a text box, image, or button module anywhere on the screen.

Wix apps

Although not a direct feature of Wix ADI, all users still get access to the Wix App Market. All of these apps work well with the design provided by Wix ADI, allowing you to extend your site’s functionality without relying solely on the built-in features.

Wix App categories include:

  • Marketing
  • Selling online
  • Services and events
  • Media and content
  • Design elements
  • Communication
  • Vistor interactions
  • Lead collection
  • Traffic analytics

As a result, you can add everything from forms to loyalty programs and calculators to social engagement elements to your site.

With over 500 apps to choose from (some free, some premium), adding to your AI-supported website is a breeze.

Pages, sections, and other customizations

The Wix ADI Builder offers a wide range of manual design tools for site structure, pages, sections, and more.

Adding sections and pages in our Wix ADI review.

Here’s a list of what to expect:

  • Add sections
  • Customize themes, colors, and fonts
  • Access and edit all pages on your site
  • Undo and redo your work
  • Edit the content or design the layout of each section
  • Duplicate, move, adjust, or delete a section
  • Reorder the structure of your site
  • Zoom in and out of the layout while editing
  • Change device views
  • Preview or publish your site
  • Get help from customer support
  • Browse and manage apps

Keep in mind that many of these page and section design features are available in the standard Wix Builder. Yet, we’re pleased to see that they also carry over to Wix ADI.

Wix ADI review: Pricing 💵

Wix ADI is more of a feature than a separate product. Therefore, it’s free when paying for a Wix.com account.

You can’t, however, access Wix ADI without one of those accounts. Specifically, to use Wix ADI, you’ll need to purchase one of the plans listed below.

Pricing for Website Plans:

  • Light: $16 per month
  • Core: $27 per month (basic ecommerce functionality included)

Business and Ecommerce Plans:

  • Business: $32 per month
  • Business Elite: $159 per month

Wix also has a free plan for personal websites, along with enterprise plans for large-scale businesses. You can test any plan with the 14-day free trial.

💡 Note: Prices here are in U.S. dollars (USD). Wix offers plans in a variety of currencies, including Euros (EUR) and Australian dollars (AUD). Prices are often comparable but may have some variance depending on the region you’re in.

Ecommerce support 🖱️

If you specify that you want an online store, Wix ADI adds a built-in online shop for you to manage.

Adding an online store to Wix.

This pairs with your general website, and Wix ADI does a wonderful job of matching the store’s styles and formats to your brand.

Therefore, every ecommerce feature that comes with Wix is incorporated into the Wix ADI design process.

Once inside the dashboard, you’ll find controls for:

  • Store products
  • Orders
  • Point of sale
  • Blog
  • Gift cards
  • Automations
  • Marketing and SEO
  • Analytics
  • Contacts
  • Payment methods
  • Shipping and fulfillment
  • Taxes
  • Invoices and quotes

Wix provides a myriad of sales channels, too:

  • Google Merchant Solutions
  • eBay
  • Amazon
  • Facebook Shop
  • Instagram Shop
  • Wish
  • TikTok Catalog

Wix ADI review: the interface 🧑‍💻

Wix ADI works in tandem with the usual Wix.com editor, so you’ll go through a similar process of signing up for a Wix account and starting a free trial.

Thereafter, you’ll be presented with questions to help you build your Wix website. These include whether you’d like forms, an Instagram feed, or an online store included with your site.

Adding elements to a website.

Walk through these initial questions until you get to the Wix dashboard. There, you can click on the Design your website button (and skip past the payment page to continue your free trial).

Designing your website with Wix ADI.

This shows you two options:

  1. Let Wix create a site for you (this is Wix ADI)
  2. Customize a designed template (the usual Wix design experience – without artificial intelligence)
Getting started - Wix ADI review.

Once chosen, the Wix ADI engine snaps into action by asking you to select a theme.

💻️ This establishes the general look of your website.

Options include:

  • Classic
  • Deep forest
  • Humble
  • Thread
  • Retro
  • Clean
Themes shown through Wix ADI.

We’d like to see more theme options in the future. Having said that, what they offer is pretty versatile, since picking something like Classic can result in a wide range of layouts and styles.

The next page is your first taste of Wix ADI generating a homepage. Taking your industry, theme selection, and business name, it pieces together several homepage designs. During our Wix ADI review, we found them to reflect the appropriate industries, while providing modern designs.

You’ll also choose the pages you’d like to add to the site, like:

  • FAQ
  • About Us
  • Reviews
  • Locations
  • Contact
  • The Team

Wix ADI then takes your selections and generates the content for these pages. Some of it can actually be left as is, but much of it you’ll have to edit. In general, the content from Wix ADI serves as a starting point (useful for suggestions and the foundational design) rather than a final product.

Wix ADI presenting pages to add.

Moving forward, Wix ADI renders the entirety of your website, without you having to type in a line of code or insert a single section.

The editor, as mentioned before in our Wix ADI review, is mostly the same as what you’d get without using Wix ADI. The main difference is with the starting design; you don’t have to begin from scratch.

Otherwise, the interface is excellent for all skill levels, since it provides quick buttons to Add Elements, Add Sections, adjust Pages and Menus, work on the Site Design, and Add Apps.

In addition, each of the pages you’d usually have to design and fill with content are already published.

Site pages and menus from the Wix ADI review.

That’s the beauty of Wix ADI. The menu is configured. The pages are designed. And they’re filled with content. No Wix or WordPress theme is quite as personalized and precise as that.

Wix ADI review: customer support 🛠️

In terms of Wix ADI customer support, you gain access to the same channels as any other Wix.com customer.

That includes:

  • Phone lines for 11 languages
  • Email support
  • Chat support

The main aspect that differs for Wix ADI users is how you complete online research. Wix offers a solid help center filled with tutorials; you’ll find several Wix ADI-specific articles to guide you along your way.

Throughout our Wix ADI review, we also found a Wix blog, social media pages, privacy and security hub, Wix encyclopedia, and SEO learning hub, all of which show that Wix excels when it comes to online documentation.

Is Wix ADI right for you? 🤔

There’s no doubt that Wix ADI improves the overall user experience of Wix.com. What’s great about Wix ADI is that you have the option to go it the old-fashioned way (designing with a template) or asking Wix ADI to do the heavy lifting for you.

Although Wix ADI seems like a simplified artificial intelligence module, it works quickly to pull unique, personalized styles, content, and formatting from the web, delivering a completely individualized design for your brand.

📢 As such, we recommend Wix ADI for:

  • Web designers interested in expediting the initial design and content creation phases
  • Beginner business owners who want a beautiful, brand-oriented website
  • People sick of generalized web design templates
  • Those who want the power of artificial intelligence while still being able to edit things after the AI has done its job
